Hydrophilic silicone oil RUISOFT BT57

Product Description

RUISOFT BT57 is a silicone terpolymer with polyether-amino-functional groups and other traditional chemical entities. RUISOFT BT57 delivers a voluminous, soft, smooth hand and excellent hydrophilicity to fabrics. It greatly improves the wear comfort of textiles, especially suitable for soft finishing of cotton, and also has hydrophilicity on polyester fabrics. It bonds strongly to the fiber surface, which leads to good exhaustibility and wash resistance.

Application

RUISOFT BT57 can be used for hydrophilic treatment of most fabrics. On hydrophilic substrates such as cellulosics, the hydrophilicity is not affected, whereas hydrophobic substrates such as polyester usually have a clear improvement in wetting properties. And the best performance will be achieved when applied on terry cloth and knitted cotton.

 

RUISOFT BT57 should be emulsified before applying in textile finish process. It is easier to be emulsified than other traditional silicone oil for textile softener. Normal equipment and emulsifier can meet the requirement.

Process

1. Add RUISOFT BT57 and emulsifier in the container, start to stir for 5-10 minutes.

2. Premix acetic acid (or sodium acetate) and water.

3. Slowly add the acidic water while continuously stirring mixture in the container. Stop adding the acidic water occasionally to ensure the water is well taken into the grease.

4. Clear micro-emulsion should be obtained at end of this procedure

Performance comparison

The products are subjected to the form of micro-emulsion,following the proportion of solid around 10% in the emulsion. The samples are applied in concentrations of 3% by exhaust on cotton and 1% on polyester.

Alkali resistant stability

To realize the salt resistant stability test we use 1.2g/l NaOH (pH=12) and 20g/l RUISOFT BT57 in 200ml bath. The following pictures are the results of the test.

Shear resistant stability

To realize the shear resistant stability test we use 0.5g/l Na2CO3, 1g/l Na2SO4, 0.1g/l reactive dye and 50g/l RUISOFT BT57 in 200ml bath. The stirring speed is 2000r/min,and the temperature is 50. The following pictures are the results of the test.

Packing

RUISOFT BT57 is available in 50kg or 130kg plastic drums or other packing on request.

 

Storage

Transport as non-hazardous chemicals. Store in original container only.

Keep container tightly closed and store in a cool, well ventilated place. 

 

Shelf life

Original characteristics remain intact for 12 months, if kept in recommended storage
